The Word On Our Street
For a second year in a row, Keep Britain Tidy has conducted a national survey, The Word on our Street, tracking the general public’s perceptions of their local environment. The survey collects information on the public’s attitudes and behaviours towards their local environment. It looks at issues from litter and dog fouling to neighbourhood relationships and community spirit. The survey reveals the where the local environment features in the public’s concerns and which litter types they consider to be the biggest problems. Repeating the survey over time helps us to understand any changes in perception that may develop.
