Going For Green Flag
The next step…the coveted Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. Develop your understanding of the Green Flag Award criteria and be guided through the application and assessment process personally by the Eco-Schools team. Your opportunity to meet one of the team and use their expertise to support you with 'Going for Green Flag'.
After attending the course, learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of what constitutes an Eco-School
- Recognise key requirements of the award scheme and assessment which will enable their school to move confidently towards the Green Flag Award
- Identify ways to focus activity on the now compulsory Energy topic
- Identify their school’s outstanding issues and develop a set of actions to prepare for Green Flag application and assessment
Who would benefit from attending this course?
This course is aimed primarily at teachers, and as such is advertised as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunity on the Training & Development Agency’s National Database of CPD. In addition, non-teaching staff with an interest or involvement in the Eco-Schools programme will also find this course beneficial.
This new half-day course offers an excellent opportunity for Eco-Schools that have achieved the silver award to equip themselves with the knowledge and confidence required to prepare for their first Green Flag application and assessment. Delegates who are experienced in the Eco-Schools programme but have not yet considered the award scheme may also benefit from learning about award criteria and the green flag assessment process.
Duration: Half Day 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm
