Introducing Street Champion Schemes - Half Day
Street champion schemes recruit local residents and others on a voluntary basis to help improve the quality of their local environment by identifying and reporting incidents of litter, graffiti, fly-tipping and other issues, as well as carrying out clean-up activities themselves.
Keep Britain Tidy and Neighbourhoods NW have studied the most effective schemes and developed a flexible framework for others to use as a guide to setting up their own. Using interactive learning techniques and an outline version of the Street Champion Framework, delegates will gain knowledge that will enable them to begin the process of establishing a street champion scheme in their local area.
On completion of the course delegates will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the six main segments of the Street Champion Framework, each of them a vital part of establishing an effective scheme:
· Planning a Street Champion Scheme
· People issues
· Recruiting volunteers
· Putting the scheme into action
· Marketing and publicity
· Monitoring and evaluation
