Keep Britain Tidy’s talking bins bag an award
31 January 2012
Talking bins, which appeared on the streets of London and Liverpool in 2011 as part of the Love Where You Live campaign, have picked up an award for their creativity and effectiveness.
IVCA LiveCom Awards promote excellence in live and experiential communications both in the UK and overseas. Developed by the International Visual Communications Association, Europe’s largest professional body for business and public sector communicators, they are the only awards of their kind to focus solely on live event and experiential marketing.
Love Where You Live talking bins, which were produced by Sing London for Keep Britain Tidy, received a Highly Commended Award in the UK - Campaigns category.
The Love Where You Live campaign is about changing people’s littering behaviour, reigniting a sense of civic pride, to reduce the amount of litter in this country. The bins make responsible behaviour fun, encouraging people to do the right thing. By taking small actions, like putting our rubbish in a bin, we can make a big difference and tackle the problem of litter that blights our beautiful country.
The award-winning bins are now preparing to visit a number of towns and cities across the country. So keep your eyes – and ears – open next time you drop your litter in the bin!
